SHA Small Research Grants Scheme
The Society for the History of Astronomy has a scheme of research grants for SHA members.
This scheme is intended to provide some limited financial support for members’ research. These grants are available only to SHA members in good standing and may be used to fund any expenses incurred while pursuing a research project in the history of astronomy, broadly understood.
A total sum of £1000 in any year has been set aside to provide research grants, and members may submit applications for up to this amount.
Applications should be submitted by 1st July to be considered for that year, and applicants will be notified of any awards made by 1st September.
Links to the application form, regulations for applicants and the procedure for making expense claims are given below. Applications must be made using the application form.
Appended to the regulations are some guidelines for completing the case for support that forms part of every application. Applications will be judged by an SHA Awards Committee and for completeness a link to the terms of reference of this committee is also included below.
Successful applicants should note that items claimed for reimbursement must be accompanied by receipts to the full value of the item.
Completed applications or enquiries about the scheme should be sent to the SHA’s Chairman, Bob Bower by email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to receiving your applications.
